About Angels on Assignment
The Angels on Assignment organization works to help children by providing solutions for families with a seriously ill member. The organization’s mission and efforts reflect the impact on individuals when a community works together to help families struggling with serious illnesses.
In early 1999, Angels on Assignment was formed by residents and local business and community leaders following a fundraising event for a sick child. Energized by the fundraising event, this group recognized the ongoing need to support families and children dealing with serious illness.
We help by:
- assisting with health, medical, and travel expenses;
- providing emotional support with "fun days away from illness;" and
- working with local charities, hospitals, and schools to meet current needs.
Our organizational goals are to:
- Expand program participation;
- Continue development of a network of charities, and health and education professionals;
- Educate the community and increase its involvement;
- Increase group membership; and
- Continue to raise funds.
The 2011 executive board is as follows:
- President: Cheryl Albrecht
- Vice Presidents: Ron Davis & Luke Pascale
- Treasurer: Suzanne Peters
- Secretary: Lenore DeAntoni
